Welcome to Kemp! 2017-2018

Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to Kemp!  I am so excited to be starting the 2017-2018 school year and I am very happy to be your child's teacher!

Kindergarten is a milestone year for children as it marks their entrance into formal education.  At Kemp, your child will be immersed in a world of letters, sounds, stories, songs, numbers, shapes, play dough, paint, glue (lots of glue!), sharing, making friends, learning to resolve problems, learning to read and write, and creative, imaginative play.

As you talk with your child about his/her day, please know that the process is sometimes more valuable than the product and learning is accomplished by being excited, motivated, and engaged in meaningful activities.

As your child's teacher, I think that one of my most important jobs is to create an atmosphere that is conducive to learning.  I want your child to be excited to come to school!  I want your child to feel safe, loved, valued, respected, and confident. I want your child to know that mistakes are a part of learning and that each day, we have the chance to start over and try again.

I know that working together with you, we will accomplish many great things this year and I am excited to be a part of your child's first experience at Kemp!

I look forward to seeing you and your child at Meet and Greet Thursday, July 27, 2017, at 9:00 am.

Sincerely,

Art Show

You’re invited to the Student Art Show!
Tuesday, May 2nd, 7AM to 5PM

The students have selected their favorite artwork. Each student will have one framed masterpiece in the show. This is a one-day –only event.
The Art Show is a wonderful opportunity for family and friends to celebrate our children’s creativity.

Bring home your child’s framed art!

We sell frames to raise money to buy art supplies and equipment. You can buy the framed art at the show and take it home. The cost is $30.
The frame includes an archival double mat with Plexiglas, for safety. All frames are proudly “Made in America”.
Pay with cash (exact amount) or a check. Checks should be payable to Kemp Elementary. Sorry no debit or charge cards.

Parents may prepay for the frame using the payment envelope I sent home last week attached to the green sheet.
You may pick up the frame the day of the show. This is a one day only event.
If you know you’re unable to attend the show, you can prepay and then email Mrs. Ramirez so she can save the frame for you.

Every child is an artist at Kemp!

See you at the Art Show! J Mrs. Ramirez
Volunteer to help at the show for a couple hours.
